Staurolite is a reddish brown to black, mostly opaque, nesosilicate mineral with a white streak. It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, has a Mohs hardness of 7 to 7.5.

Offered here is a genuine Staurolite crystal, a unique and naturally occurring twinned mineral often known as a “Fairy Cross”. This particular specimen is sourced from France, one of the classic localities for these rare metamorphic crystals.

Staurolite is renowned for its distinctive cruciform (cross-shaped) twin crystal formation, making it highly collectible and visually striking. Often found embedded in mica-schist, this mineral has long been revered both scientifically and spiritually.
