Description

Presenting a rare and striking fossil ammonite of the genus Buchiceras, sourced from the Santonian Stage of the Late Cretaceous period, discovered in the arid fossil-rich beds of Western Sahara, Morocco. This beautifully preserved specimen is an authentic relic from a prehistoric marine environment and showcases the distinct coiling and ornamentation typical of Buchiceras.

Buchiceras ammonites are recognised by their planispiral coiling, prominent ribbing, and rounded whorls, features that make them highly desirable among collectors of ammonite fossils. They are part of a diverse and well-documented ammonite fauna that thrived in the warm epicontinental seas of the Cretaceous.
