Fluorite also known as Fluor-spar is a colourful mineral composed of calcium fluoride. As well as ornamental uses, Fluorite is used in the making of hydrofluoric acid, as a flux in the manufacture of steel, and in the production of certain glasses and enamels.

The name Fluorite is derived from the Latin ‘fluo’ meaning flow, in reference to its use as a flux. Fluorite is a beautiful mineral, both in visible and ultraviolet light.
