Agate is a variety of silica, characterised by its fineness of grain and brightness of colour. Agate is one of the most common materials used in the art of hardstone carving and are used to make ornaments such as pins, brooches or other types of jewellery, Most agates occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or ancient lavas.

Worry stones are smooth, polished gemstones, usually in the shape of an oval with a thumb-sized indentation.The smoothness of the stone is most often created naturally by running water. The size of a worry stone is often about half the size of a silver dollar coin in the United States. They are used by holding the stone between the index finger and thumb and gently moving one’s thumb back and forth across the stone.

Worry stones may also be called palm stones, thumb stones, fidget stones, soothing stones, or sensory stones.
