Description

6mm Mookaite Jasper Bead Bracelet – Genuine Australian Fossil Stone

This beautiful 6mm Mookaite Jasper bead bracelet is crafted from genuine Australian gemstone material, formed over millions of years within ancient sedimentary deposits. Mookaite, often spelled Mookite or Mook Jasper, is a striking variety of radiolarite found exclusively near Mooka Creek in Western Australia. Each bead displays rich natural tones ranging from deep red and burgundy to mustard yellow, cream, and earthy brown, creating a warm, organic palette inspired by the Australian outback.

The bracelet is made from carefully selected, polished 6mm round beads, strung on durable stretch cord for comfortable everyday wear. Full sizing details can be seen in the accompanying photograph. The photo shows the exact bracelet you will receive, ensuring complete transparency and confidence in your purchase.

This is a genuine fossil stone specimen and includes a Certificate of Authenticity lifetime guarantee generic card.

Geological Formation & Fossil Origin

Mookaite Jasper is a silicified radiolarian sediment, meaning it formed from the microscopic silica skeletons of Radiolaria—marine plankton belonging to the order Radiolaria within the class Polycystinea. These ancient single-celled organisms thrived in warm Cretaceous seas approximately 145–66 million years ago. When they died, their silica-rich skeletal remains accumulated on the ocean floor, forming siliceous ooze that gradually lithified into radiolarite.

The vibrant colour variations in Mookaite are caused by mineral impurities during diagenesis. Iron oxides produce the deep reds and browns, while variations in silica and clay content contribute to cream and yellow tones. The depositional environment was a shallow marine shelf associated with the Cretaceous inland sea that once covered parts of Western Australia.

Over geological time, compaction, silica recrystallisation, and mineral replacement transformed this marine sediment into the dense, fine-grained gemstone material used in this bracelet. Though highly polished for jewellery, Mookaite retains its identity as a fossil-bearing siliceous rock formed from ancient marine microfauna.

Notable Characteristics & Morphology

Each 6mm bead is precision-rounded and smoothly polished to enhance the natural colour zoning and subtle banding typical of high-quality Mookaite. The stone is opaque with a waxy to vitreous lustre when polished. Its dense microcrystalline quartz structure provides durability suitable for daily wear.

Natural patterning may include:

  • Soft colour transitions and patchwork zoning

  • Subtle mottling from radiolarian microfossil distribution

  • Earth-toned marbling caused by iron mineral diffusion

No two beads are identical, making every bracelet unique.

Jewellery Use & Wearability

This stretch bracelet is designed for both men and women who appreciate natural gemstone jewellery with geological significance. The 6mm bead size offers a balanced, versatile look—subtle enough for layering yet distinctive enough to wear alone.

Mookaite is often associated with grounding and strength in crystal traditions, making it popular among gemstone collectors and holistic jewellery enthusiasts. Whether worn as a meaningful accessory or added to a mineral collection, this bracelet combines aesthetic beauty with deep geological history.

Authenticity & Guarantee

This Mookaite bead bracelet is a genuine specimen sourced from authentic material. It includes a Certificate of Authenticity lifetime guarantee generic card. The bracelet shown in the photographs is the exact piece you will receive.

A carefully chosen example of Australian fossil stone craftsmanship, this 6mm Mookaite Jasper bracelet offers both natural history and timeless style in one elegant piece.
