Essexella is an extinct genus of scyphozoan jellyfish known from Late Carboniferous fossils containing the species Essexella asherae. See list of prehistoric medusozoans. It is one of the most recurrent organisms in the Mazon Creek fossil beds of Illinois.

    The one I received was very nice and just as the image of it had showed. Although hard to determine what it is without knowing prior, being somewhat rare it makes a great addition to a collection.
